A new Veteran Support Center has been inaugurated in Kyiv as part of a national initiative aimed at establishing a network of such centers within higher education institutions across Ukraine. This information was released by the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The primary goal of the center is to provide assistance to veterans through educational opportunities, psychological adaptation, and professional development. Family members of veterans can also access educational services, including consultations on starting a family business and obtaining grants. The center is modeled after the Student Veteran Centers in the United States.

«This initiative goes beyond being just another educational program. We are committed to supporting our defenders in their new lives. The experience of our American colleagues, whom we met during a working trip in August, shows that such centers can become crucial support points for veterans, helping them navigate civilian life through education and professional growth. Our center is about restoring faith in oneself and building a future in Ukraine», emphasized the Director of the Kyiv College of Applied Sciences, Hanna Shchutska.

The college's specialists have already developed short-term course programs for the Veteran Support Center. Among them are graphic design; web design; microbusiness; Ukrainian sign language; e-commerce, and other relevant fields.

This project is being implemented with the support of the charitable organization «MHP-Community» and the All-Ukrainian Union of Defenders of Ukraine.

The Veteran Support Center will serve as a platform for education, personal growth, and successful integration of veterans into society, aiding them in building a new life in a peaceful environment. Moreover, it ensures equal opportunities and free access to education for veterans, establishing an inclusive educational landscape.
