The Department of Education and Science of Kyiv City Administration, in collaboration with the Kyiv City Education Agency, has launched a documentary film anthology titled «Kyiv Education. The War Notebook», dedicated to the capital's educational sector during the full-scale war. The premiere took place at the Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University during the final board meeting of the Department.

«We take pride in how Kyiv educators managed to organize the learning process amid rocket attacks and power outages. We are currently working together to build a modern, energy-independent, and safe educational system ready for any challenges. This film is about us, our city, our resilience. May it serve as a symbol of gratitude to every educator, every leader, and every worker in the education sector who persevered and does the impossible every day», said Valentyn Mondryivskyi, Deputy Head of the KCSA, in his welcoming address.

Since the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, 156 educational institutions in Kyiv have been damaged. The film captures moving stories of educators who defended their homeland, worked in shelters, evacuated children, assisted residents and military personnel by sewing uniforms and preparing food, and continued teaching students even during active combat.

The 45-minute film narrates life and work under war conditions, highlighting the formation of unique safety and pedagogical experiences, and a new level of responsibility within the educational community.

A special segment of the film is dedicated to the memory of Badri Lolashvili, the deceased director of the Kyiv City Education Agency. In 2014, he defended Ukraine as part of the 72nd brigade of the «Black Zaporizhians». After the full-scale war began, Badri rejoined the 72nd brigade to defend Kyiv. He was killed in Moshchun on March 13, 2022. By the decision of the Kyiv City Council, his name has been assigned to the Kyiv Professional College of Art and Design.
