The ‘Kyiv Military Hub’ held an event for students at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University, focusing on fostering national patriotism and conscious civic engagement through dialogue with veterans who participated in combat.

During the meeting, veterans shared their experiences and presented photographs of Hero of Ukraine Ruslan Borovyk, who lost his life on April 29, 2022, in fierce battles in Kharkiv region.

Veterans recounted their military journeys. Military psychologist Vera highlighted the purpose of the ‘Kyiv Military Hub’ and the importance of societal support for veterans.

“In challenging combat situations, it is crucial not only to accomplish military objectives but also to provide psychological support to comrades. The moral state of soldiers often determines the success of operations and the effectiveness of rehabilitation,” Vera stated.

Roman Ushev, Mykhailo Pleshakov, and Vladyslav Bitkovskyi shared their life stories, discussing the challenges veterans face after their service.

“War doesn’t end when you leave the battlefield. It continues within you. It’s important for both soldiers and society to understand that rehabilitation is a long-term process that requires support and understanding,” emphasized Roman Ushev.

Additionally, students had the opportunity to converse with veterans about aspects of rehabilitation, psychological support, and social adaptation after the war.

The presentation of the ‘Kyiv Military Hub’ demonstrated to the student youth that veterans not only defend the country on the battlefield but also continue their service through support and rehabilitation of their comrades in civilian life.
