The first Ukrainian schools operating abroad on Saturdays and Sundays have been verified. Now, children living outside Ukraine can study under a Ukrainian studies program. This information was shared by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The ministry emphasizes that the learning outcomes from accredited institutions will be recognized in Ukraine, allowing children to maintain a connection with the Ukrainian education system.
"These schools provide not only lessons but also the chance to interact with peers, a sense of the Ukrainian community, and the preservation of traditions. Ukrainian language is mandatory for all students. In grades 1-4, teachers present Ukrainian studies content alongside the Ukrainian language through the integrated course 'I Explore the World'.
Starting from grade 5, students study separate subjects such as Ukrainian literature and the history of Ukraine. Depending on the grade, subjects like geography, civic education, and 'Defense of Ukraine' are also included in the curriculum," the statement reads.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has published a verified list of ten Saturday and Sunday schools operating in various countries around the world.
