As the new school year approaches, the Ukrainian government prioritizes schools located in frontline areas, as well as shelters and the adaptation of the educational process to modern demands.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.
«More than 3 million children in Ukraine are set to start the school year — either in classrooms or online. I held a meeting with Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi to discuss preparations for the new academic year,» she stated.
The head of government emphasized that the lack of shelters in educational institutions negatively affects the quality of education and complicates the organization of in-person classes.
«Therefore, we continue to build new underground school shelters and upgrade the existing ones. We are also facilitating student transportation with new school buses,» she stressed.
The Prime Minister noted that special attention will be paid to schools in frontline regions.
«It is crucial that all children have equal access to quality education and that curricula meet the demands of the modern labor market. That is why we are focusing on updating the content and teaching methods while enhancing teacher qualifications,» Svyrydenko underlined.
She also reminded that this year, over 2,400 students achieved the highest scores on the national multi-subject test. «We are working to ensure that each of them can realize their potential in Ukraine,» the head of government added.
