The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, attended the annual conference «Serpneva-2025» organized by the Ministry of Education and Science. The opening ceremony was also graced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi.
In her speech, Olena Zelenska expressed gratitude to teachers who, even under challenging circumstances, restore a sense of normalcy for children. «Your contribution is extremely important for our children and their families,» she stated.
She shared insights about programs supporting children and youth, including initiatives for accessibility, school nutrition reform, and the mental health program «How are you?».
Education remains a priority for the Olena Zelenska Foundation. «Wherever it is safe, we are establishing shelter classrooms for students. Together with partners, we provide students and teachers with devices for remote learning,» she added.
Olena Zelenska also announced that the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, dedicated to education, will take place in Kyiv this autumn.
According to the First Lady, 82% of Ukrainian teenagers believe in their future, despite the ongoing war. «This is an important signal indicating the hope of our youth,» she emphasized.
The conference brought together educators, administrators, and representatives from various organizations working on educational reforms in Ukraine. Over 500 participants discussed new challenges in education and opportunities for youth development in the modern world.
