Ukraine has officially approved a revised list of essential teaching tools and equipment for instructing high school students in the subject "Defense of Ukraine".

The relevant order was adopted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In addition to standard equipment like blackboards and desks, the list now includes:

  • FPV drone control simulators with computers;
  • interactive laser shooting simulators;
  • radio stations for learning communication basics;
  • elements of training courses;
  • mannequins for practicing CPR and first aid;
  • tourniquets and bandages;
  • tactical medical kits;
  • helmets and bulletproof vests.

"The updated equipment will enable students to learn life-saving first aid skills, prepare them for using modern technologies in safety, develop critical thinking, resilience against misinformation, and practical skills for emergency situations," the ministry states.

It is worth noting that in 2024, the Ministry of Education approved an updated curriculum for the subject "Defense of Ukraine", which will now be taught in specialized training centers serving multiple schools.

According to Oksen Lisovyi, the educational program has removed "everything that was influenced by the Soviet approach", and students are now taught together, rather than separately as before.

The ministry emphasizes that the new teaching approach considers modern challenges and needs in national security and aims to foster patriotic awareness and develop practical skills.
