Leaders of two coalition factions in the Bundestag, Jens Spahn from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Matthias Mirsch from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), have arrived in Kyiv.

According to the publication, citing dpa, this is the first joint visit of the CDU/CSU and SPD parliamentary group leaders to Ukraine. Additionally, it is the first visit for both Spahn and Mirsch. In Kyiv, they plan to hold talks regarding continued support for Ukraine from Germany and diplomatic efforts to end the war.
"Matthias Mirsch and I are here to send a clear message: the government factions of CDU/CSU and SPD stand now and in the future with Ukraine, with the brave Ukrainians defending their homeland and Europe," Spahn stated during a press conference upon arrival in Kyiv.
