Starting Monday, the new school year begins, prompting public relations inspectors to collaborate with students to paint informative signs regarding pedestrian traffic rules near educational institutions. This was reported by the Kyiv patrol police.

The patrol officers reminded everyone of the important rules to ensure a safe journey to school:

• before crossing the street, stop. Ensure the driver sees you and has come to a halt;
• always look left first, then right;
• remove headphones and avoid using gadgets while crossing the street;
• hold your child's hand;
• while waiting for the green light, stay a bit back from the road.

Drivers need to be especially cautious on the roads. “Dear drivers, please be extremely attentive and careful when passing near educational institutions, especially when children are heading to school! Protect yourselves and follow simple rules!” the police urged the drivers.
