The air defense forces successfully neutralized 116 drones and intercepted some of the "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles aimed at Ukraine since the evening of February 8. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
Starting from 5:30 PM on Sunday, February 8, the invaders launched an attack with 11 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region, as well as 149 strike UAVs of the Shahed, "Gerbera", "Italmas" types, and other drones from directions including Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo (RF), temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Hvardijske (temporarily occupied Crimea), along with around 90 Shahed-type drones.
The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 AM on Monday, February 9, the air defense had shot down/disabled 116 drones.
Additionally, some of the "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles were intercepted and did not reach their targets.
Hits of missiles and 23 strike UAVs were recorded at 15 locations, with debris from shot down drones falling at 6 sites.
The attack continues, with several enemy drones remaining in the airspace.
On the evening of February 8, air alerts were declared in several regions, including Kyiv, due to the threat of ballistic weapon use by the Russians.
