As a result of the assaults that occurred on the evening of February 1, air defense forces managed to neutralize 157 out of 171 drones launched by Russian invaders. This information was shared by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
Starting at 6 PM on Sunday, February 1, Russian forces executed a strike on Ukraine using an 'Iskander-M' ballistic missile from temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as 171 strike drones of the Shahed type, 'Gerbera', 'Italmas', and others from directions including Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo (RF), and temporarily occupied Donetsk. Nearly 100 of these drones were of the Shahed type.
The aerial assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
Preliminary data as of 9 AM on Monday, February 2, shows that air defense managed to shoot down 157 drones in the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country.
There were recorded hits from a ballistic missile and 12 strike drones at 8 different locations.
The attack is still ongoing, with several enemy drones remaining in the airspace.
On February 1, Russian troops targeted a DTEK miners' bus in the Pavlohrad district of Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in 16 injuries. Nine of the wounded are in critical condition, and at least 12 miners are confirmed dead.
