The head of Kyiv OVA, Mykola Kalashnyk, announced that the units of the 'Clear Sky' project have shot down approximately 2100 enemy drones. He shared this information following a working visit to the military, who protect the airspace over the capital region.
Kalashnyk, along with his deputy Ruslan Oliinyk, visited soldiers involved in the project and working as mobile drone counteraction groups. He noted that on the eve of the Armed Forces Day of Ukraine, he had the honor of personally recognizing the military for their dedicated service and professionalism.
«I expressed gratitude for the daily risks they take for our safety», – said the head of the region.
During the visit, the KOVA leadership went to command points and positions where the military was preparing for their next combat duty. According to Kalashnyk, these mobile groups are the first to confront aerial threats.
He emphasized that 'Clear Sky' is a unique air combat technology where a drone intercepts another drone. He stated that the system operates «quickly, accurately, and effectively».
Kalashnyk highlighted that the project originated in Kyiv region but has already scaled to other areas of the country. Together with the military and communities, a unique tactic for countering aerial threats was developed.
«Every downed aerial target means saved lives and preserved infrastructure», – he noted.
The regional head also assured that support for these units will continue – through subsidies and engaging partners to provide equipment and resources.
«Thanks to these people, we have the opportunity to live, work, and build our future», – emphasized Kalashnyk, expressing sincere gratitude to the military.
