The Ukrainian company AirNet has unveiled a new device for drones – a net shooter featuring an integrated radar. This technology is specifically designed to detect hostile UAVs and automatically capture them with a net.

This development was announced during the Brave1 Components exhibition, according to "Militarnyi".

The net system weighs 780 grams and can be installed on various platforms. It activates automatically; simply power it on and elevate the drone above 5 meters.

The radar determines the three-dimensional coordinates of moving objects within a specified sector – distance, azimuth, and height.

When the AirNet-equipped drone approaches an enemy UAV within a range of 0.1 to 6 meters, the system locks onto the target and sends a command to ignite a micro-explosive device.

This triggers a shot with a specialized net at a distance of 5-10 meters.

"Each net shot costs about 50 dollars, but it can disable any propeller-driven drone, including large UAV models," the company states.
The AirNet system is operated from the drone's remote control on which it is mounted. The captured drone remains suspended in the net below the interceptor, allowing the operator to transport it to safety.

The net's strength allows it to carry loads up to 20 kg. If the captured drone is too heavy or dangerous, the operator can remotely drop it along with the net.

After completing the mission, the operator can quickly replace the cartridge with a new net and pyrotechnic device.

Earlier, it was reported that Brave1 is launching a grant program for domestic weapon component manufacturers, allowing developers to receive up to 8 million UAH to accelerate R&D and enhance the technological readiness of their developments.
