Since the start of 2023, Kyiv has endured over 1000 drone attacks. These hostile actions have resulted in 166 deaths and 866 injuries, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
“Since the beginning of the year, drones have been utilized for attacks on Kyiv. Tragically, 166 people have lost their lives, and 866 have been injured. Most of the casualties are due to drone strikes. Residents associate Russian aggression primarily with drones like the «Shahed»,” the statement reads.
The military administration noted that for many communities in Ukraine, the sound of drones has become a signal of danger. Russian forces aim to create flight paths that allow «Shahed» drones to fly over cities, instilling fear in civilians.
“What we face is often difficult for people in other countries to comprehend. The world is unaware of our experience as Ukraine continues to hold strong, and our defenders remain steadfast. Hence, we aim to show the world the face of Russian terror that seeks to annihilate us,” the KCMVA emphasized.
In St. Michael's Square, near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, visitors can now witness firsthand the threat posed to Ukrainian cities.
“This drone was captured by our troops and no longer poses a risk. However, it serves as a reminder of the true face of Russia — merciless and bloody. By scanning the QR code at the display, one can donate to the «Drone Fall» initiative from the «Come Back Alive» foundation. We must stop terror and hold Russia accountable for its war crimes against Ukraine,” the KCMVA stressed.
It is worth noting that the aftermath of the Russian night combined attack on November 25 was recorded in over 13 locations in the capital.
