The air defense forces successfully neutralized 406 drones and nine missiles launched by Russian forces against Ukraine on the evening of November 7. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
From 6:30 PM on Friday, November 7, Russian troops conducted a combined strike on critical infrastructure targets in Ukraine using attack UAVs, as well as air, ground, and naval missiles.
In total, the radio-technical troops of the Air Forces identified and accompanied 503 air attack means – 45 missiles (of which 32 were ballistic) and 458 various types of UAVs (about 300 were Shahed drones):
- 458 attack UAVs of the Shahed type, "Herbera", and other drones from directions including Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), and Hvardiyske (temporarily occupied Crimea);
- 25 ballistic missiles "Iskander-M/KN-23" (from Kursk, Voronezh, and Rostov regions);
- 10 cruise missiles "Iskander-K" (from Kursk and Voronezh regions);
- seven air-launched ballistic missiles X-47M2 "Kinzhal" (from Tambov region);
- three cruise missiles "Caliber" (from the Black Sea).
The primary areas of attack were Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava regions.
The air raid was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 8, air defense had shot down/neutralized 415 aerial targets: 406 drones and 9 missiles of various types.
Confirmed hits included 26 missiles and 52 attack UAVs at 25 locations, with debris from the downed objects falling in four different regions of Ukraine.
