Drone units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have struck oil refineries in the Russian Federation, specifically in Saratov and Novokuybyshevsk.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their Facebook page.

In the night of September 20, units employing drone systems coordinated with other elements of the Defense Forces to strike the Saratov Oil Refinery located in Saratov Oblast.

This refinery accounts for approximately 2.54% of the total oil processing volume in Russia, processing over 7 million tons of oil annually.

Confirmed explosions and a large fire were reported at the target site. Final damage assessments are underway.

Additionally, on September 20, Ukrainian drone units targeted the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery located in Samara Oblast.

This refinery processes more than 8.8 million tons of oil each year.

Preliminary information indicates explosions and fire at the facility. Further details are being clarified.

Moreover, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces targeted an object of the main transportation infrastructure - the linear production dispatch station (LPDS) "Samara", located in Samara Oblast.

This station mixes high- and low-sulfur oil from various fields to create the Urals export blend, accounting for up to 50% of Russia's total oil exports.

Results of the strike are still being verified.

All affected facilities are involved in supporting the Russian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically implementing measures aimed at reducing the military-economic potential of the aggressor state, particularly by undermining Russia's logistical capabilities in the oil refining sector and disrupting the supply of fuel to the Russian army, as emphasized by the General Staff.
