The Ukrainian air defense successfully neutralized 583 air targets, including 552 drones and 31 missiles.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Command on their official Telegram channel.
On the night of September 19-20, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukrainian territory using various drones and missiles.
The radar troops detected and tracked 600 air attack objects:
- 550 Shahed-type drones and their imitators from directions such as Kursk, Bryansk, and others;
- 8 ballistic missiles from Yeisk;
- 31 X-101 cruise missiles from the Saratov region.
The attack was repelled by aviation and anti-aircraft units, demonstrating a high level of preparedness and technical efficiency.
Western fighter jets, including the F-16s, were involved in the operation, confirming their effectiveness in combat.
The Air Forces expressed gratitude to international partners for their assistance and hope for further strengthening of Ukraine's air defense systems.
As of 09:00 on September 20, it was reported that air defense had destroyed 583 targets:
- 552 drones;
- two missiles;
- 29 cruise missiles.
Hits from missiles and drones have been recorded at several locations, including debris falling.
The attack is ongoing, and the airspace remains under threat.
