A comprehensive air defense system named “Clear Sky” is being implemented in Kyiv to protect the city from enemy drone attacks.
This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMVA), Timur Tkachенко.
How the “Clear Sky” system will defend Kyiv
According to him, the capital is allocating additional funds to implement the large-scale project “Clear Sky,” which aims to utilize domestic drones for interception. A budget of 260 million hryvnias has been designated to establish an effective response system to threats.
Specifically, a training center for operators will be set up, where specialists will learn to operate interceptor drones. Additional mobile units will also be formed to patrol Kyiv and its outskirts.
It is noted that the “Clear Sky” system will operate in close coordination with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Air Forces, and other components of the Defense Forces.
Timur Tkachенко emphasized that during the pilot phase of the project “Clear Sky” in the Kyiv region, nearly 550 enemy drones have been intercepted.
The launch of this comprehensive system aims to significantly enhance Kyiv's protection against ongoing drone attacks from the enemy.
