The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has released new information about a war criminal involved in the missile strike on the children’s hospital “Oхmatdyt”.

On this anniversary of the tragic event, Ukraine's military intelligence reveals details about the individual responsible for preparing this crime. Major Denis Shaynov is an officer in the Russian armed forces, leading the special engineering service of the 121st heavy bomber aviation regiment of the 22nd heavy bomber aviation division.

This unit directly participated in the attack on the medical facility where 627 children were receiving treatment at the time of the strike.

In his role, Major Shaynov was responsible for the technical preparation of air-launched cruise missiles X-101 for use by strategic aviation aircraft.

Denis Shaynov was born on January 30, 1978, in Saratov. His passport details are: series 6302 No. 906672, issued on March 15, 2002, by the internal affairs department of the Kirov district.

He graduated from the Saratov Higher Military Engineering Command School of Rocket Troops and was in Syria in 2018, carrying out special assignments.
He has been awarded the medals «For Military Valor» II class (2000), «For Distinction in Military Service» I class (2015), «Participant in the Military Operation in Syria» (2019).

Shaynov is married to Elena Mikhailovna Shabalova, born April 30, 1976, and they have a son and a daughter. The family’s permanent address is: Saratov, Batavina St., building 12, apartment 266.

The GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasizes: there will be just retribution for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people.
