On June 22, a notable volunteer and photographer, Stanislav Humeniuk, was killed as a result of a Russian missile strike. This tragedy has left a profound impact on all who knew him.

This news was shared by the Chernobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve on social media.

«It is with deep sorrow that we announce this loss. On June 22, 2025, our friend Stanislav Humeniuk, a chief sergeant and true defender of Ukraine, lost his life to an enemy strike,» the statement reads.

Stanislav Humeniuk, born in 1966, was a resident of the village of Novobratske in the Chopovitska community. He was a multifaceted individual: an activist, teacher, composer, singer, and initiator of the movement «Save Polissia!».

«He left us many photographs filled with love for nature. His works still live on the pages of the Chernobyl Reserve, preserving the memory of his talent,» the reserve added.
