A night missile strike on Kyiv has resulted in 6 fatalities and 19 injuries.
Source: State Emergency Service, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, and Mayor of the capital Vitali Klitschko on Telegram, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service Svitlana Vodolaha during the national news marathon.
According to Klymenko, due to the combined Russian shelling, there are confirmed casualties and injuries.
At 7:27 AM, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the death toll had risen to 5.
“Currently, 5 people have died in a building in the Shevchenkivskyi district as a result of the enemy's attack on the capital. There are a total of 19 victims in the city, 8 of whom are in city hospital wards,” – the mayor wrote.
At 8:32 AM, the State Emergency Service confirmed that the number of deceased had increased to 6.
“Work to eliminate the aftermath of the attack is ongoing at 2 locations. A total of 312 rescuers and 74 units of equipment are involved. Information is being updated,” – the service noted.
The shelling affected the Shevchenkivskyi, Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.
“Efforts to mitigate the consequences of the night strike are continuing, with all services engaged. Information is being clarified,” – reported the State Emergency Service.
