The loss of Dnipro Ukrainian Youth Theater actor Maxim Kovtun has struck a deep chord with all who knew him.

This was announced on May 2 by representatives of the theater.

"Maxim went to the front lines to defend our country, our freedom, and our future. He sacrificed the most precious thing — his life — for a peaceful sky above us.

Our entire theater team, colleagues, and friends express their heartfelt condolences to Maxim's family, his loved ones, and everyone who was close to him during his life," emphasized the theater team.

Maxim participated in numerous productions for both children and adults, including roles in Gogol's 'The Players' and as Aesop in the namesake play. He also took part in over ten puppet and interactive shows for children.

Maxim Kovtun volunteered to go to the front.

"His roles were vibrant, sincere, and full of warmth — they will forever remain in our hearts. He played for children and adults, bringing joy, laughter, and deep emotions," added the youth theater.

He is survived by his wife and young daughter.
