OpenAI is currently focused on creating a new tool that generates music based on text and audio requests.
According to The Information, this technology may be utilized to add musical accompaniment to videos or to create guitar parts for pre-recorded vocals. At this moment, it remains unclear when this tool will be launched and whether it will be offered as a standalone product like Suno or integrated into ChatGPT or the video application Sora.
Sources indicate that OpenAI is collaborating with students from the Juilliard School, who are assisting in annotating musical scores to develop training materials.
Previously, the company had already released music generation models, but these came before the rollout of ChatGPT. It is known that OpenAI is currently working on audio models, particularly for converting text to speech and vice versa.
