The Ukrainian company L7 Simulators has unveiled a new model of a crew training simulator for UAV interceptors called "Guardian". This announcement was made via the company's social media.
The training complex allows users to practice detection, tracking, and interception of hostile drones in highly realistic scenarios. It offers a flight simulation experience without any risk to actual equipment. The simulator can be deployed quickly, and its interface closely resembles standard ground control stations for UAV interceptors.
The "Guardian" trains operators to act in combat environments, enhancing their reaction times and abilities to track and engage targets in conditions similar to actual combat situations.
The simulator features realistic target behavior and trajectory construction. It also supports simulations of multicopters and fixed-wing drones. It includes two operational positions: the Navigator (tactician) and the Pilot (operator), allowing for interaction between the two in a realistic simulation setting.
"This training complex allows for a complete aerial engagement simulation between the UAV interceptor crew and hostile UAVs, where the Navigator identifies the target, tracks it, shares coordinates or directs weaponry, while the Pilot maneuvers the drone in the air, performing maneuvers and ensuring combat contact with the target," the system description states.
The emergence of such a complex is significant as Ukraine actively develops the UAV interceptor sector and its production capabilities. One of the most notable solutions is the "General Chereshnya Bullet" drone, which can take down "Shahed" drones, reaching speeds of over 309 km/h and is already being prepared for mass production.
Another noteworthy interceptor is the Sting from the "Wild Hornets", which was recently accelerated to over 315 km/h. This drone model has already shot down over 900 targets within a few months.
It is important to note that L7 Simulators offers other simulators as well. They previously developed the MK 19 grenade launcher simulator, which allows for quality training of operators in a safe virtual environment with complete combat simulation.
Another innovative solution from L7 Simulators is the virtual trainer for intercepting FPV drones using a shotgun. During training, military personnel hold a real shotgun and shoot at virtual FPV drones they see through goggles and hear through headphones.
