The company OpenAI, renowned for its ChatGPT chatbot, is working on a new initiative that will serve as an alternative to the LinkedIn social network for professional networking.

This was reported by CNBC.

“Our upcoming OpenAI Jobs Platform will utilize artificial intelligence to assist qualified candidates in finding employment opportunities,” the company stated. “This platform could pose a serious challenge to LinkedIn.”

It is anticipated that OpenAI will launch its platform by mid-next year.

OpenAI and Microsoft share a complex relationship, as Microsoft officially acknowledged the AI startup as a competitor in the advertising space in its annual report last year.

At the same time, Microsoft remains OpenAI's largest investor, having poured in $13 billion into the startup.
