The American tech giant Nvidia has announced the development of a new chip aimed at the Chinese market, which is expected to be more powerful than the currently available H20.

According to information obtained from Reuters, the new chip, tentatively named B30A, will utilize a single-chip architecture, likely providing half the computational power compared to the more complex dual-chip configuration of Nvidia's flagship B300.

A single-chip architecture means that all essential components of the integrated circuit are manufactured on a single piece of silicon rather than being divided across multiple chips.

The new chip will feature high-speed memory and Nvidia's NVLink technology for rapid data transfer between processors. These features are also present in the H20 chip, which is based on the older Hopper architecture.

While the specifications of the new chip are not yet finalized, Nvidia hopes to provide samples to Chinese clients for testing as early as next month.

The company stated, "Everything we offer has full approval from the relevant authorities and is intended solely for profitable commercial use."

It is noted that Nvidia only received permission to resume sales of the H20 to China in July. This chip was specifically designed for the Chinese market after export restrictions were imposed in 2023, but the U.S. abruptly ordered the company to halt sales in April.
