UNITED24, in collaboration with Microsoft and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, has launched a new documentary project titled «Arina's Journey». The primary goal is to unite the global community for the rebuilding of Ukraine.

The main character is Arina, an eight-year-old dancer from Irpin. Her hometown and dreams have been shattered by Russian attacks. She had to flee her home with her mother and later returned to a devastated community. Arina's story represents the fate of thousands of Ukrainian children. This project combines documentary footage, art, virtual reality, and gaming elements to show the war through the eyes of young Ukrainians.

“With the support of Microsoft and the UNITED24 fundraising platform, we can reveal to the world the extent of the destruction Ukraine has faced due to Russian aggression. Such initiatives elevate fundraising to a new level — making it more effective and technological while drawing attention back to Ukraine,” stated Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation.

Thanks to innovative technologies, viewers are immersed in a virtual space where they can visit the destroyed community center in Irpin. There, Arina shares her dream of dancing on a big stage. Users will enter the metaverse — a reconstruction of the Irpin community center — and explore Ukraine's rich cultural heritage, including «Shchedryk» and the creations of modern artist Masha Reva.

To realize such a complex technological project, Microsoft provided expert support and the capabilities of the Azure cloud platform.

This project represents a new approach to raising funds for the reconstruction of Ukraine, focusing on the dreams and hopes of Ukrainian children. To help children achieve quality education and great accomplishments in life, UNITED24 has launched the «Education and Science» initiative.
