The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has entered into a partnership with the National Semiconductor Association.
According to the ministry's announcement, this collaboration will focus on implementing the Digital Development Strategy known as WINWIN by 2030.
Key steps outlined in the memorandum include:
- integrating research developments into production;
- participating in international initiatives;
- assisting Ukrainian companies in accessing global markets;
- supporting startups through mentoring and funding;
- enhancing cybersecurity for semiconductor manufacturing;
- training specialists and creating specialized educational programs.
The ministry emphasized that chips are the backbone of nearly all digital products—from smartphones to rockets. Former Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Valeria Ionan stated that developing domestic chip production is a strategic response to global challenges. "This will help us reduce dependence on foreign markets, diversify the economy, and establish ourselves as a significant player in global technology policy," Ionan stated.
It was announced today that Valeria Ionan has completed her term as Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation. She stated that she will remain in the team as an advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on innovation, digitalization, and global partnerships. According to her, this new role will allow her to work for the state "more strategically, on a larger scale, and even more effectively," focusing on innovation and international relations.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Digital Transformation is exploring alternative options for small-scale chip production that could be realized within the next 1-2 years.
