A remarkable athlete, Pavel Ishchenko, a four-time champion of Ukraine in strongman competitions, has been killed at the front. This was reported by Sport.ua.
«The sports community has received yet another tragic message from the front. During a combat mission against the invaders, four-time champion of Ukraine in strongman competitions and record holder Pavel Ishchenko was killed», the statement reads.
The athlete hailed from Hostomel in the Kyiv region. Before becoming a strongman, Pavel was a world and European champion, as well as a multiple Ukrainian champion in powerlifting.
Ishchenko balanced his competitive career with coaching. He became the strongest in Ukraine in strongman competitions during the full-scale war in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
