During yesterday's UPL match in Kyiv between «Dynamo» and the Kharkiv team «Metalist 1925», children who had previously been deported or forcibly displaced by Russia were invited. The kids escorted the players of both teams onto the field, showcasing unity and support.
According to the press service of the football club, this is just one of the first activities as part of FC «Dynamo» (Kyiv)'s involvement in the President of Ukraine's initiative Bring Kids Back UA.
The initiative aims to bring home all Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia during the invasion that began in 2022. There is confirmed information about at least 19,546 such cases, but the actual number is likely much higher—possibly over 1.6 million children, including those still in temporarily occupied territories. As of today, thanks to the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, 1,656 children have been successfully returned.
Supporting the President's initiative demonstrates FC «Dynamo» (Kyiv)'s commitment not only to symbolically support children but also to become a permanent partner in collaborative efforts with the state, society, and international partners, particularly in conducting reintegration activities aimed at bringing Ukrainian children home.
«For us, football has always been more than just a game,» said FC «Dynamo» (Kyiv) CEO Dmytro Brif. «First and foremost, it is a responsibility to society and our children. We will do everything we can to help bring Ukrainian children home, as they are the future of our country. We believe that children should grow up at home—in their own country, in families, under a peaceful sky.»
