The Ukrainian Boxing Federation has received a favorable decision from the board of directors of World Boxing.

This was reported by the FBU press service.

"This opens doors for our athletes to compete in all tournaments under the World Boxing banner, including World Cups and international championships. Every boxer from our country fights not only for medals but also for the pride of our nation. The Ukrainian Boxing Federation is doing everything possible to support our athletes and develop boxing in Ukraine," – stated in the press release.

The first World Boxing Championship will commence on September 4 in Liverpool, featuring Ukrainian representatives. The tournament will award 20 sets of medals for both men and women.

The International Olympic Committee has granted the right to organize Olympic boxing tournaments to the International Boxing Association (IBA), led by Russian Umar Kremlov.

In 2023, the World Boxing organization was established to ensure the preservation of boxing in the Olympic program. In March 2025, the IOC officially included boxing in the Olympic events.
