32 medals and 6 new European records! With such remarkable results, Ukrainian weightlifters concluded their participation in the European Championship for boys and girls under 15 and 17 years in Madrid (Spain).

Our athletes secured second place in team standings among girls U17, boys U17, and girls U15.

In the total competition, Ukrainians earned 9 "big medals" (4 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze).

The European champions and record holders are:

  • "Gold": Olena Mykhalyuk (40 kg, U 15, 125 kg).
  • "Gold": Kateryna Malashchuk (48 kg, U17, 169 kg — European record in total, 76 kg — European record in snatch, 93 kg — European record in clean and jerk).
  • "Gold": Yuriy Klymkovych (79 kg U17, 139 kg — European record in snatch).
  • "Gold": Serhiy Kotelevskyi (88 kg, U17, 318 kg — European record in total, 177 kg — European record in clean and jerk).

In the snatch and clean and jerk, our weightlifters claimed 23 "small medals" (5, 5, 13).

Kateryna Malashchuk was recognized as the best athlete among girls under 17.

Kira Stroganova finished third in the Sinclair ranking among athletes under 15.
