Vasyl Lomachenko, the former world champion, has decided to end his boxing career.

He announced this in a post on his Facebook page.

In his usual manner, Lomachenko expressed gratitude to God, his father and coach, his family, and his team, as well as the United States. However, he did not mention Ukraine, Ukrainian fans, or the ongoing war.

Interestingly, his announcement to fans regarding his retirement was made in Russian.

"Every boxer has a day when they hang up their gloves. That day has come", he stated.

Lomachenko's last fight was against George Kambosos, in which the Ukrainian won the IBF lightweight title. Since then, he has not stepped into the ring.

Reports in the media have mentioned his health issues, particularly a back injury.

Recently, there has been much discussion about the possibility of his return to the ring. Several boxers have expressed interest in a potential matchup with Lomachenko, including Keyshawn Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and even the Russian Abdullaev.

Vasyl Lomachenko has found himself in controversial situations multiple times. Recently, he met with the Metropolitan of the UOC-MP, previously invested in a Russian company, and has expressed discontent with the Metropolitan of the PЦU, Epiphanius.
