Elina Svitolina's impressive victory in the fourth round of Roland Garros against Jasmine Paolini has opened new doors for the top-ranked Ukrainian.

This win marks Elina's first success in Grand Slam tournaments after coming back from match points. Moreover, she has become the second player in the last decade to reach the quarter-finals of majors 13 times, following Serena Williams.

In her match against Jasmine Paolini, Svitolina managed to save three match points. For the first time in 150 Grand Slam matches, the Ukrainian secured a victory when her opponent was just one point away from success.

In 2015, Elina first reached a major quarter-final, which took place on the Paris courts of Roland Garros. Since then, Svitolina has reached the quarter-finals 13 times in Grand Slam tournaments. The only player with more quarter-finals in the last ten years is the legendary Serena Williams with 16.
