Ukrainian gymnast Nazar Chepurnyi has won a bronze medal in the vault event at the 2025 European Championships in gymnastics.

He secured third place with a score of 14.583, marking Ukraine's first medal at this tournament.

The competition was won by Armenia's Arthur Davtyan, while the silver medal went to Britain's Jake German.

Arthur Davtyan (Armenia) – 14.799

Jake German (Great Britain) – 14.733

Nazar Chepurnyi (Ukraine) – 14.583

This medal marks Chepurnyi's second consecutive bronze in the vault at the European Championships. This year, he also had a chance to medal in the floor exercise but finished in fourth place.

It's worth noting that the Ukrainian team approached this tournament amidst a significant scandal. On May 6, it was reported that the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation decided not to send Sartynskyi to the European Championships, where Ukrainian gymnasts were supposed to compete.

However, athletes expressed their outrage over this decision and announced their boycott of the competition, accusing the Federation's vice president, Stella Zakharova, of "systematically undermining men's gymnastics in Ukraine from within."

Sartynskyi believes he was sidelined from the European Championships because he does not succumb to the Federation's pressure. Zakharova, in an exclusive comment, accused Oleg Vernyayev of organizing the boycott of the Ukrainian team.
