The debut film by Harris Dickinson, titled "Urchin," featuring Ukrainian actress Karina Khymchuk, has been selected for the main program of the Cannes Film Festival 2025.

This was announced during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, as reported by film critic Sonya Vselubskaya from U.P. Culture.

The story revolves around a homeless man named Mike in London, who finds himself trapped in self-destruction while trying to change his life. The film is described as "absurd and raw" and is referred to as "a tale of strange circumstances that constantly pull us back."

Alongside Karina Khymchuk, the film features performances from Frank Dillane, Megan Northam, Amr Waked, and Shauna Marie.

"Urchin" is part of the competitive program Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival, alongside works by Morad Mostafa, Scarlett Johansson, Diego Cespedes, Stefan Demoustier, Akinola Davis Jr., Tarzan Nasser, and Harry Layton.

Karina Khymchuk is a Ukrainian actress who played the role of a shop assistant in the film "Rap Kings" and starred in the leading role of Tony Noyabryova's "Do You Love Me?" for which she received a special award at the 14th Odesa International Film Festival.

Additionally, the actress appeared in the Dutch series "Ferry."

"Urchin" marks the debut of actor Harris Dickinson, known for his duet with Nicole Kidman in the film "Babygirl."
