On December 1st, World AIDS Day, a ceremony took place in Kyiv at the Red Ribbon memorial to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate global solidarity. Participants laid flowers as a sign of respect and unity.
The event honored those we have lost and expressed gratitude to partners working daily to save lives.
«The goal of this event is to show the solidarity of the state and donor community with people living with HIV in Ukraine, as well as to encourage the public to get tested and understand their HIV status. We thank everyone who contributes to the fight against the HIV epidemic both in Ukraine and globally», organizers from the charity organization «100% Life» stated.
Representatives from the UN, the Ministry of Health, the Public Health Center, and various partner organizations involved in HIV services also attended the event.
The organizers emphasized that the fight against AIDS continues, and every day is a step towards a stigma-free, fearless society. It is crucial to support, protect, inform, and save those in need.
