The three-day conference titled «The Role of Service Dogs in Emotional Support for Police Officers and Veterans» took place in Lviv region. It was organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, and the EU Advisory Mission.
The event brought together police representatives, scientists, dog trainers, psychologists, and military personnel.
Among the participants were specialists from Kyiv, such as Vitaliy Lytvyn, Daria Lepska, and Ruslan Hubanov, who discussed veteran policy issues.
The conference included discussions on the pilot project's outcomes regarding the use of service dogs for the support of police officers and their families. Attendees learned about methods for working with veterans who have experienced military conflicts.
Veterans shared their rehabilitation stories, confirming the effectiveness of working with four-legged helpers. This provided opportunities for gaining new knowledge and experience for future work with veterans.
