Currently, Ukraine faces significant challenges regarding the accounting of internally displaced persons (IDPs). This was stated by Tetiana Kiriienko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, during the National Forum of Social Leaders.
"One of the main issues is the lack of a unified IDP accounting system. At present, there is no clear structure or responsible individuals for collecting essential data that would help identify people's needs and their paths. Every person deserves the right to choose where they want to live, even temporarily", - highlighted Kiriienko.
She also pointed out the ongoing issue of document recovery for IDPs, which is not always resolved at transit points due to time constraints and a lack of specialists.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the need for qualified personnel to assess individual needs and maintain records.
"At every stage, there is a shortage of qualified workers, complicating processes", - she added.
Kiriienko noted the absence of clear algorithms for addressing evacuation challenges.
She also touched upon the difficulties related to the evacuation of pets.
"There are also issues concerning the support for mobility-impaired populations, particularly financial assistance, which requires analysis and refinement", - she underscored.
Kiriienko stressed the importance of employment and education for children during the adaptation process.
"Regarding mobility-impaired individuals, we need to change our approach to institutional facilities and expand the network of social service providers", - she concluded.
