The project «Active Parks — Unstoppable» is actively developing in Kyiv, providing assistance to veterans, their families, and individuals with disabilities affected by war, helping them recover through sports. This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
Currently, there are 31 adaptive sports clubs in Kyiv, where participants can engage in activities such as para-hockey, rugby, paintball, pétanque, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, yoga, archery, pickleball, and more. The clubs operate on both the left and right banks of the city, and their numbers are continually increasing.
«Adaptive clubs are environments of equal opportunities where everyone can feel the power of sports, the belief in their abilities, and the support of the community,» the Ministry states.
Additionally, every Saturday and Sunday from 14:00 to 18:00, functional training sessions take place at Kontraktova Square for anyone interested, as part of the «Games for All» initiative.
This project is implemented by the State Institution «Agency for Mass Sports of Ukraine» with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine by 2030.
