The Verkhovna Rada has voted in favor of the initiative to form Cyber Forces within the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its first reading, receiving support from 255 votes.

Draft Law №12349 proposes the establishment of Cyber Forces as a military command unit that can incorporate civilian specialists (cyber reservists) during cybersecurity operations.

This legislation will define the legal status and operational principles of the Cyber Forces, which will be responsible for safeguarding Ukraine's cybersecurity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The Cyber Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine aim to organize training and preparation for cyber reservists, establishing a stable human resource potential of motivated citizens.

The status of a cyber reservist will not require compulsory military designation for involvement, instead depending on personal skills and motivation.

The primary objectives of the Cyber Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine include enhancing cyber defense capabilities, ensuring military superiority, and diminishing adversary capabilities through operations in the electromagnetic spectrum and cyberspace.
