On the occasion of Medical Worker Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with military and civilian medical staff at a medical center under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and awarded them state honors.

This information was reported on the President's official website.

«I want to congratulate all our doctors, nurses, and everyone dedicated to the crucial mission of healing and saving lives. Treating and saving our fellow Ukrainians, assisting with rehabilitation, especially for our soldiers today, is of utmost importance», – stated the President.

He emphasized that even in highly dangerous conditions near the front lines and in border areas, our people receive medical assistance.

According to the head of state, the work of all those developing rehabilitation systems in Ukraine is incredibly significant.

«Here, state institutions, many municipal organizations, and numerous private initiatives are involved. There are teams that provide professional, evidence-based, and systematic rehabilitation», – the President highlighted.

He thanked Ukrainian medical workers for their dedication and urged everyone to remember the doctors, nurses, and medics who lost their lives due to Russian strikes. A moment of silence was observed in their memory.

The head of state awarded military and civilian medics with orders and medals and conferred honorary titles of «Honored Doctor of Ukraine» and «Honored Health Worker of Ukraine».

Awards were given to combat medics who evacuate injured soldiers from the battlefield and provide first aid, as well as to civilian healthcare workers who have been assisting the affected since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion and continue to work in frontline regions.

Zelensky listened to a report on the specifics of the medical unit's operations that provide aid to injured soldiers. The facility offers a complete treatment and rehabilitation cycle, including medical and psychological support.

The President inspected the work of the day hospital, patient rooms, operating theater, and specialized diagnostics departments including endoscopic, radiological, fluorographic, and ultrasound.

Additionally, representatives of the medical center showcased specialized vehicles used for evacuation and assistance in combat conditions. This included emergency medical vehicles, the armored vehicle «Novator-2S», designed for medical evacuation from the battlefield, and a mobile surgical unit enabling stabilization interventions directly in combat zones.
