In Kyiv, therapeutic workshops on canine therapy and art therapy were organized at a yacht club.
Psychologists and juvenile police workers collaborated with the public organization «Ukrainian Association of Pet Therapy» and the «Chaplain Patrol» to conduct these workshops for injured soldiers.
According to the Kyiv police communication department, specialists worked with military personnel for two days, conducting psychological rehabilitation activities at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth yacht club.
Participants learned about the benefits of canine therapy, recognized as an effective method of psychological support. Four-legged therapists help distract from painful memories, fostering an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance. Soldiers shared engaging stories from their lives and interacted with a small fluffy therapy dog named Richie and a German shepherd named Alice.
«During the meeting, Kyiv police psychologists used metaphorical associative cards to communicate with the defenders, helping to reveal their unique traits and find ways to understand each other better,» stated the Kyiv police.
At the end of the event, the soldiers enjoyed a boat ride on the Kyiv Sea, thrilled by the experience.
