Yuriy Felipenko will forever be 32 years old.
On June 19, a farewell took place in Kyiv for the actor and fighter of the 429th 'Achilles' regiment, Yuriy Felipenko.
His wife, Kateryna Motrych, announced his passing.
"Yura was my everything, my light. It's impossible to express this loss. I feel as if a part of me has been destroyed," she wrote.
Yuriy began his professional career during his student years at the National University of Theatre, Film and Television named after I. Karpenko-Kary. Later, he continued his acting journey at the Kyiv Academic Drama Theater on Podil.
He also featured in films such as 'Promise to God', 'Operation Desertion', 'Castle on the Sand', among others.
With the onset of the Russian invasion, Yuriy actively volunteered but later decided to join the defense forces.
"My husband never tried to diminish me. His unwavering support and belief accompanied me in everything I did throughout our conscious life together. True admiration happens when I grow as a person, not in a struggle for a false male superiority over women, but in genuine appreciation and unquestionable faith," Kateryna spoke of her beloved.
Yuriy served in the 429th separate drone systems regiment 'Achilles'. According to his comrades, they could always count on him during the toughest assaults.
Unfortunately, on June 15, while performing a combat mission, Yuriy lost his life. Now he will forever be 32 years old.
"He had a wonderful life, he went to fight voluntarily so that we could all live in peace here. Erase everything Russian from your memory, forget the language and culture of the enemy. It is only because of Russia that we are gathered here today, looking at Yuriy's cold body," said the defender's wife during the farewell.
