On Monday, April 14, the United Kingdom allocated £752 million (approximately $990 million) to Ukraine through the G7 credit mechanism, utilizing frozen assets from Russia.
This information was reported by "European Truth" citing Reuters.
This latest payment marks the second of three scheduled disbursements totaling £2.26 billion. The first payment took place on March 6 and also amounted to £752 million.
The remaining funds are expected to be disbursed in 2026.
"The world is changing before our eyes, reshaped by global instability, particularly due to Russian aggression in Ukraine," commented UK Finance Minister Rachel Reeves.
It is worth noting that in 2024, the G7 agreed to jointly provide Ukraine with a $50 billion loan funded by Russian assets: the funds will be formally provided as a loan but repaid through revenues generated from frozen Russian assets.
At the end of December 2024, Ukraine received the first tranche of a planned $20 billion from the USA, and in January 2025, the first €3 billion from the EU.
