According to a study, major landowners in Ukraine have reduced their land holdings by 8225.4 hectares over the past year.
Research conducted by "Opendatabot" indicates a decline in the number of companies owning more than 100 hectares, from 283 to 217. Among these, 34 companies are registered in temporarily occupied territories.
The largest landowners include Agrofirm Svitank with over 5000 hectares and Druzhkivske Rudoupravlinnia with 3300 hectares. The third position is held by Zerniatko-Pivden with 2700 hectares.
Since January 2024, the land market has been open to businesses, but instead of a buying spree, companies with significant land holdings are selling their land. A total of 2554 plots have been sold since the market opened.
As of March 18, 2024, Ukrainian companies sold at least 1283 hectares within nearly three months. Unexpectedly, businesses began selling land instead of buying.
By July 2024, three years after the land market opened, 567,000 hectares of land had been sold, with the highest demand noted in Poltava region.
