New Checkpoint at the Hungary Border Opening on April 8

The inauguration of the international crossing “Great Palad-Nodhgodos” will be attended by high-ranking officials from both Ukraine and Hungary, as stated by the Hungarian Republic's Consul General József Baczkaí during a meeting with acting head of Transcarpathian Customs Illia Nizhnykov.

The diplomat expressed that the operation of this checkpoint would enhance cross-border and cultural ties, positively influencing Ukraine's Euro-integration.

For his part, Nizhnykov informed the Hungarian consul that the customs service has implemented a systematic and comprehensive approach to combat smuggling and corruption.

Additionally, the establishment of an industrial park in Batevo and Batrad will facilitate the large-scale production of plywood and wooden panels for export to EU countries through Hungary. Thus, increased traffic at automobile checkpoints is expected.

Nizhnykov also mentioned that all border crossing points in this section are functioning smoothly and rhythmically, thanks to the Memorandum signed between the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the Hungarian Customs and Financial Guard.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to actively communicate, respond quickly to issues, and seek solutions.
