The State Statistics of Ukraine has released the results of three major sectors of the real economy for the year 2024.

This was announced by the head of the parliamentary tax committee, Danilo Hetmantsev.

According to him, this information was published with almost a two-month delay (the report was supposed to be finalized by the end of January).

Regarding transportation, freight transportation increased by 7.8%, passengers by 6.8%, freight turnover by 13.0%, and passenger turnover by 10.1% (in 2023, the changes were +3.4%, +27.3%, -2.0%, +26.5% respectively).

"Thus, the situation in the freight segment has improved, while in the passenger segment, there has been a slowdown," commented Hetmantsev.

  • Construction: volumes increased by 15.5% (in 2023 – by 25.0%).
  • Industry: production rose by 3.6% (in 2024 – by 6.8%).

"The slowdown in recovery rates (especially in the last two sectors) raises concern. If the construction sector can maintain last year's results, it could return to pre-war levels by 2029, while industry would only do so by 2035," the deputy noted.

He believes that the Ministry of Economy needs to make significant adjustments to its promotional campaign "Made in Ukraine", as the country critically needs acceleration, not a slowdown in the recovery of its key sectors.
