Ukrposhta is preparing to launch a new set of stamps that will feature lighthouses from the Black and Azov Seas, including those located in the occupied territory of Crimea.
This collection is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series that began in 2009, as reported by the company.
This year's stamp release coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the State Hydrographic Service, which is responsible for the maintenance of Ukrainian lighthouses.
“This time, the stamps will tell the stories of the Black and Azov Sea lighthouses, as well as the lighthouses of Crimea, which, although temporarily occupied, remain an integral part of Ukraine in both our maps and in the hearts of Ukrainians,” the company explained.
The new stamps will feature:
- The Ai-Todor and Chaudyn lighthouses in Crimea;
- The Shagansky lighthouse in Odesa region;
- The Bilosaraysky and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
- The Ruski Zadni lighthouse on the Bug-Dnipro-Liman Canal in Mykolaiv region.
