The Trump administration has restricted Ukraine's access to commercial satellite imagery purchased by the U.S. government through Maxar.
Source: National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and Maxar, according to "European Truth" citing CNN.
Details: Ukraine has long relied on Maxar satellite imagery to track Russian troop movements, assess terrain, and assist in military planning.
The suspension of access to images provided by Maxar satellites follows the Trump administration's decision to limit intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
"Maxar holds contracts with the U.S. government and numerous allied countries for satellite imagery and geospatial data. Each client independently decides how to utilize and share this information," said a Maxar representative.
"We take our contractual obligations seriously. We do not alter how we support our other clients, their programs, or contracts," the company added.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency stated that it has temporarily suspended access to the system providing commercial satellite imagery purchased by the United States, in line with the presidential administration's directive regarding support for Ukraine.
On Friday, CNN reported that the U.S. continues to share intelligence data with Ukraine that may help its forces defend themselves, but has "reduced" the intelligence exchange that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could use for attacks on Russian occupiers.
Commenting on the cessation of aid to Ukraine, President Donald Trump stated he "wants to stop the deaths."
